Most homeowners only remodel their kitchen once in a lifetime. Nicole, however, started her second remodel not long after her first. Over time, Nicole realized she was unhappy with the results of her original design choices, and that’s when she came back to CliqStudios.
Over the Old Style
In the initial remodel, Nicole had used CliqStudios cabinets but came back when she had quickly grown tired of the previous style. Although beautiful, she no longer liked the colors, her backsplash, or the lack of storage space with the built-in corner pantry. With the help of CliqStudios designer, Shannon Bonewitz, they started creating her dream kitchen design.
Nicole commented saying, “After the first renovation, I realized I wasn’t happy with the range hood I chose or the backsplash and also wished we had removed the corner pantry. The range hood was stainless-steel and was too modern and felt out of place with overall design aesthetic for our home, and the arabesque backsplash that I originally picked was just too dark for the space.”

She also talked about working with Shannon during the second remodel saying, “For the second CliqStudios renovation, I discussed what I wanted to change with Shannon. She was amazing to work with and extremely patient with me because I was very slow with design decisions the second time around. I didn’t want to rush into it and make any additional mistakes like I had the first time.”
Nicole’s kitchen remodel was transformed from a reserved Transitional style to a bright and beautiful, modern design with much more storage. The new kitchen is designed Signature line’s Dayton door style in Cloud White and Classic Gray. Countless new features now include stacked glass wall cabinets with decorative moldings, two new pantry cabinets, excess drawer storage, a custom wood hood, and a furniture-style wall cabinet. Along with this project, a beautiful reading nook was also added to her daughters room in Craftsman line's Brentwood inset door. Because the spaces are separate, she was able to select different lines and complementing styles for that part of the home.
Custom Solutions
During the project everything was working out seamlessly except the wood hood. Since CliqStudios didn’t offer what Nicole was looking for, Shannon quickly got to work, helping her get everything she dreamed of. Nicole said, “We needed a custom size to fit our space and I wanted a very specific look for our range hood and Shannon worked so hard to make that a possibility for me. She specified all the sizing and components we would need and gave great design guidance and direction.”
Renderings had a major impact on the way Nicole and her designer, Shannon, made decisions. Nicole shared how she’s a visual person and the drawings helped her know right away if she was “missing the mark”.
In the end, it was safe to say Nicole was overjoyed with her new kitchen and couldn’t say enough good things about her experience...
