Why Visit the Largest Kitchen and Bath Industry Show
The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, or KBIS for short, is held every April or May in either Las Vegas or Chicago. This year it will be in Chicago from April 24–26. Less than a month away!
Trade shows have changed over the years: most have gotten smaller due to the housing industry recession. However, the KBIS show is still going strong and there are many great reasons to visit.
1) More Products on Display. The KBIS floor is so large it cannot be covered in one day. There are thousands of appliances, faucets, kitchen cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and lighting products on display all at once. It’s easy to compare many products all in the same day.
2) New Product Introductions. Every year a panel of judges votes on truly new, innovative product introductions and displays them in a separate area for viewing. Each area of the show has new product introductions as well.
Last year, I learned about dimmable LED lighting at the Hafele booth. I wrote about it and it became CliqStudios’ number one blog entry!
3) Designers and Architects. Every year I’ve visited, I’ve met industry peers and we’ve shared resources and project ideas. I ran into an architect from Los Angeles and found out he’d designed one of the famous Caesarstone counter tops we’ve admired in publication.
4) Inspiration and Education. Last year we attended an American Standard event about Green Initiatives and were introduced to low flow technologies in faucets and toilets. This helped us specify all green products in our Passive Project, the MinnePHit House. Surely, there will be plenty new to learn about at KBIS this year!
