Trending: Painted Kitchen Cabinets

No question, the top trend in kitchen design is the use of white painted cabinets. Always a good choice, white cabinets complement any architectural style, from traditional to contemporary. When lining a room, the cabinetry creates a light, bright environment. Choices in accent colors are unlimited.

Moreover, white is timeless. Remodeling a kitchen is typically a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I want to ensure my clients still love their spaces years down the road. CliqStudios’ 16-step, baked-enamel process ensures a durable and attractive finish. I always suggest a customer review the care and cleaning of painted cabinets before installation, so the new kitchen always looks its best.

A second trend is the use of two or more colors or finishes in cabinetry.  That can be an excellent way to break up the monotony of a large bank of cabinets, or to create a furniture-look feature. In the example above, the use of cherry cabinets in the island reinforces the island’s role as a focal point. The turned legs provide a furniture look, an excellent transition between kitchen and living areas. Only a space as large and complex as the kitchen and butler’s pantry in the design above could handle this three-color plan. The deep cherry tone of the island accentuates its role as the center of activity. The butler’s pantry base cabinets, in tea leaf, distinguish the space from the main kitchen, while the linen perimeter cabinetry provides a light, bright feel. Not easily seen in this image, the two Stanisci Design range hoods introduce a fourth color, white!

Stephanie loves the challenge of working with existing spaces and helping each client create a beautiful environment.  She graduated from college in 2002 with a degree in kitchen design. Prior to working at CliqStudios and a local kitchen design center, she ran a showroom for a company that fabricates and installs granite, experience experience that adds depth to her work as a kitchen designer.
